Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral or prescription from my doctor?


No. As a doctor of physical therapy in Nevada, your physical therapist is trained and skilled in evaluating and treating you without a doctor's referral. If "red flag" signs or symptoms are noted your therapist will refer you to your doctor for further evaluation. MEDICARE REQUIRES A DOCTOR'S REFERRAL. Also, if you plan to submit a claim to your commericial insurance you should check with your insurance if they require a referral from a doctor for reimbursement.




Do you accept my insurance?


At this time Sipple Physical Therapy is mostly a cash-pay clinic. By choosing to be a cash-pay clinic we are able to provide appropriate care without seeking approval of an insurance company. You will be given a "superbill" with all the information you need if you choose to submit a claim to your insurance. Sipple Physical Therapy will be considered "Out-of-network" with most insurance companies, so you may or may not receive some reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your benefit plan. Please contact your insurance company directly to verify your benefits. At this time we are only in-network with Sierra Health/Health Plan Nevada PPO plans ONLY and Medicare. As a courtesy we will bill Sierra Health and Medicare on your behalf. Please note, that by going through insurance you may be requirred to have a referral and/or authorization for physical therapy services. Check with your healthcare plan to verify your benefits.




What should I expect during my first visit?


During your first visit a comprehensive evaluation will be performed by a skilled therapist. This will include a subjective portion where we talk about your history and your symptoms. It may be helpful to bring a list of medications, medical history, symptoms you have been experiencing, and a list of questions you would like to ask. The evaluation will also have an objective portion where the therapist will evaluate things based on the subjective exam. During the objective exam your therapist may look at your strength, range of motion, gait (walking pattern), balance, etc. You will want to wear loose clothing and sneakers. If you have a doctor's referral please bring it with you to your first appointment or have your doctor fax us at 702-665-4096. (A doctor's referral/prescription is not required, with a few exceptions. Please see above for more information on referrals).

Is physical therapy right for me?


Physical therapy is a good choice for most people. Whether you are currently in pain, have suffered an injury, would like to maintain your current fitness level, or would like a plan to help prevent injury. When are you open?


Sipple Physical Therapy has office hours Monday-Saturday by appointment only. Feel free to reach out to us by phone or e-mail and well will get back to you within 24 hours Monday-Saturday. We are closed on Sunday.
